Hello, everybody!
I have thought a long time about one thing, which maybe will interested for you too.
My mother was a Czech, father - Byelorussian. Because of my profession I travel a lot and in every country in Europe I feel myself pleased and conveniently, as at home. I feel interconnection of European culture and highly appreciate general European democratic values. And I want to admit, I feel myself as European. You can say: "There is no European nation!" I object - there is! I am here! And I'm sure there are hundreds and thousands like I am!
I'm opening for you my soul and hope to find like-minded persons.

find ich komisch. ich fühl mich primär als mensch. aufgewachsen in nem slum in indien oder in nem vorort in den usa als kind reicher eltern - man kann sich sein geburtsumfeld nicht aussuchen. also was soll der quatsch ?

Das als was ich mich fühle kann man leider nicht auswählen.

That whole concept of nation is some kind of pre1970th to me. In germany, I guess, only the rightist are thinking in categories like nation, race or ancestry nowadays. Hence, no answer from me to your poll.

Mir ist auf Reisen schon gelegentlich aufgefallen, daß es sowas wie regional unterschiedliche Mentalitäten gibt, die daraus resultieren mögen, wie man aufgrund von Traditionen erzogen wurde und sich in eine auf diesen Traditionen (ich benutze das Wort mal im weitesten Sinne) basiernde Gesellschaft eingefügt hat.
Ich würde das aber für mich noch kleinteiliger auflösen, ich bin nämlich eindeutig norddeutsch (aus Bielfeld bin ich u.a. weg, weil die Ostwestfalen... ::) )...betrachte das (Norddeutschland) aber als einigermaßen integrierten Teil von Europa.
